Yes, Eoth traded 3612 for NM backfield mt so NM could ship troops faster to
the front and there were other forward bases as well.
However, there were several DS nations that didnt seem to be played as
aggressively as they could: Dk Lt, Black numoreans, other DS in the south,
Long Rider.
As the eoth player and a frontline nation, I was surprised that none of my
homeland mt's were ever really threatened by DS armies, except on one
occasion by a medium Doglord army that came close (but not strong enough to
take mt/tr outright)
no agent nor emis attacks on my homeland. Did lose a few cheesy army cmdrs,
but they were easily replaced
