Clint & team - great work! Kudos on including the “player lore” section as well. That’s very helpful to new players.
Nice work guys. It’s a great resource

16 Agent orders take place
17 Characters being held hostage attempt to escape
Is this in the “old” rules in this order also?
Sorry I don’t understand. Try again.
Clint
Characters seem to be able to escape prior to agent orders. i.e. an Execute order does not necessarily occur prior to a prisoner escaping (just had it happen)
Thanks Dave.
I have known for quite some time that a hostage gets a chance to escape prior to being executed. I have always considered this escape attempt to coincide around the same timeframe as Rescue Hostage occurs. I.E.
630 Rescue Hostage
650 Execute Hostage
I have figured the escape occurs somewhere around the 631 timeframe if possible this allows a rescue attempt to take place before the last ditch escape attempt.

Very true, I’ve been the ‘lucky’ rule tester of escape before execute on
many the occassion.
I like the guide a lot, thanks for all the work that went into it. I am sure since it is now open to everyone that a few more changes will be made, but hey, that’s why it’s 1.0.0, right? I think that for new players, it’s especially helpful to get them out of their “newbiness” a little faster, or at least make them more comfortable playing with more experienced folks.
On that note, I did find a typo, although I’m sure that’s the least of your worries. In the 1650 artifact list, you call #29 the “Palantir of Minas Arbir”. This should be “Anor”, right? Those keys are right next to each other, so completely understandable, but maybe a little something for version 1.0.1.

I wonder if characters slated for execution get an extra ‘saving throw’ immediately before the execute hostage order is performed against them, escaping if they pass. If no attempted execution, then they try to escape per the timeline.
I have previously noticed that Tibor Hoza’s MEMap4 mapping program has this same ‘Arbir’ typo. I thought it might have been a German language issue as several of the artifacts in his program seem to show up with their German-translation names even with the English language option chosen.
With the player bits we left it as it was rather than try to correct anything. It’s possible that we’ll up date it but that’s for the future. If anyone fancies collating changes to make that would be great.

Hi!
When (if) you notice some bugs (or some spelling-errors - my english isn’t the best), please send me a short mail at a-r-c-h-o-n@gmx.de
Thanks!
Bye, Tibor (Hoza)
