Since I like causing confusion amongst teammates and opposition, how
about a new 1650/2950 scenario involving limited communication
between players? The rules would be simple, standard game set ups
with only two conditions.
1. You don't know who the other players are, teammates, opponents,
and neutrals.
2. You can only communicate with other players through official
diplomatic messages passed through Harlequin, and these messages may
not contain any identity information.
It would sort of be like Gunboat, but coordination would always have
to happen a turn later since everyone gets diplos with their turn
results. Thoughts? Suggestions?

RD: I like this. Gunboat threw the baby out with the bathwater in getting rid of diplomacy altogether. Gunboat may suit individualistic players, which is fine, why should they not have a game which suits them? The broader the player base the healthier the game.
Diplomacy only through the GM adds a realistic time-lapse. By "no identity info" I presume you mean no -personal- info. You must be able to sign yourself Dendra the Dog-lord or whatever, otherwise you'd never get a reply!
Yes let's see this idea take off!
Could this be combined with the other recently mooted idea of players being able to say what bonus 10 points they want and to whom it should be allocated; and maybe transferring 10 skill points from one character to another? Eg Uruk starts with E30 M10. Ugly starts with only C30. So cancel Uruk's M10 and make Ugly C40.
Rather than allow players to swap 10 points of one skill for 10 points of another skill on a different character, how about making it 10 points for 5 and unlimited transfers? Thus the Noldo could trade 40 mage points off one or more characters for 20 agent points onto a dedicated agent. Also, a player could never say with certainty, "I KNOW Bullfrog started out as a C30 M50" or whatever. This would add realistic uncertainty about an opponent's capabilities!
