Anti-Curse spell - can block curse points up to 1/2 the mages natural ability. Even a low level mage might have a chance to save a commander.

I was thinking more protection from magic full stop, this could easily be broken though

I like this one. Maybe this could be a "healing" spell that occurs
before the character is "completely" dead and would affect anything
that took a characters health to zero (or below???) (assassinations,
spells, executions, personal challenges)
