Next AutoMagic revision

The next revision of AutoMagic will be released soon, (as soon as the
bug checking is done). This is the last call for feature requests.

So far, the next AutoMagic revision will have the following
enhancements:

EXCEL 2003 & XML IMPORT: This should be resolved so that you don't need
to change your XML file to a TXT file before importing.

AUTO-ORDERS COST: Orders costs will calculate automatically on the
EconoCalc sheet, (with the exception of buy/sells).

LOST PRODUCT: Added a line to the EconoCalc sheet to subtract
commodities (in anticipation of PC losses, season changes, or whatever).

BID PRICE: Added a separate section for bidding on the EconoCalc sheet
were you can put in a bid price and amount. (The 20% buy/sell SNA does
NOT apply to bidding.)

ARTIFACT SHEET: Adjusted the formatting slightly to match that found in
AutoMinister.

ENHANCED TURN INFORMATION: Comments are those small red triangles within
certain cells that pop up a text box when you move the mouse cursor over
them. AutoMagic normally just uses comments to provide help with certain
sections. Now it will use dynamically updated comments to provide
additional turn information.

ARTIFACT INFO: If a character posesses artifacts, a Comment will be
placed in the CHARACTER NAME cell showing which artifacts they possess.

ARMY INFO: If a character commands an army, a Comment will be placed in
the LOCATION HEX cell showing army info, including troop numbers and
characters travelling with the army.

SPELL INFO: If a character is a mage, a Comment will be placed in the
SKILLS cell showing spell info, including name, number, and casting
rank.

These comments will be deleted (and replaced) each time AutoMagic
imports a new XML turn file.

Are there any other issues that need to be addressed, or suggestions for
improvements?

Hi Mike

Can you make it so that it can send the orders using Thunderbird (by Mozilla) as well as Outlook?

Thanks

Tony

Sorry, no can do. I'm using a VB code that simply sends an E-Mail using
your default E-mail software. Apparently, since it is Microsoft Excel
and Microsoft Visual Basic, it will only play well with Microsoft
Outlook. Not sure why, and it's definitely not fair, but that's
Microsoft for you.

Just a small info-note

The artifact #133 The dagger of green wisdom does not always give
you the ability to Conjuring Ways. It ocasionally has other powers.
In my game it gave the ability to cast Major Heal 1/turn.
(Have pdf as proof if needed)

You might also wish to standardise the Blind Sorceror abreviation.

Jesper --

Artifacts in 1650 and 2950 generally have consistent hidden powers in every game. Artifacts in 4th Age have the old hidden powers stripped away -- and then any random artifact has the possibility of having a hidden power, which is always of the format "allows wielder to cast X" where X is some random Easy spell. By any chance is the game where you have the Dagger of Green Wisdom a 4th Age game?

Game 90, previous 1 weeker, won by DS, I was Corsairs and WK. The Dagger was located and found and the 705 failed so we researched it....poof, a different power than that which is on the lists.

Which upset many... Note, there are 2 standard items on the lists that show "random" secondary powers, which many will eventually Research to determine if they're worth going for. Well, now there are 3 (or more...) on some of our lists.

The lists were made, and when you consider it, the very many weaker swords that aren't as glamourous have a reasonable chance to be variable. One day I'll get to play a mage nation and issue the 412 against a pile of those weak steak knives that have no 2ndary powers on the "lists". Note Dun sword Ghostbane is appropriately named also....
