RD commented: Paternity leave is political correctness gone mad.
Not so sure about that old chap, probably got more to do with sexual discrimination laws -- if the mother is legally entitled to maternity leave then its only equitable that the father have the same rights.

RD: Why? How many men bear children? If they did, they should be entitled
to maternity leave. Paternity leave is something totally different - pc
nonsense as I said.
Who wants it anyway?
OK all you lazy b***rds who put your hands up, no you can NOT spend it
fishing, you're supposed to be helping your partner and cleaning up after
that noisy wriggling pink thing that keeps churning out mess from every
orifice.
Any man on paternity leave caught fishing should immediately have any
benefits stopped and be sent back to work.
No, better, be compelled to clean up after the baby at gunpoint. Every day
for a year.
Still want paternity leave guys?
Richard.

Yes, much agreed. But you see, if I was to continue to work
full time AND try and do enough with the orifice-shooter at
home to keep my wife alive long enough to have more...I wouldn't
have time for Middle Earth.....compromises MUST be made!
