Yah I seen the cartoon, its kinda part cartoon/part guys dressed up as orcs then airbrushed (cos the cartonists couldn’t work weekends I guess, heh).
Its kewl but ends at about the point just after a huge battle at minas tillith between the riders of rohan and a huge orc/goblin army.
Its well old, I think I saw it something like 15 years ago on telly in the UK, and haven’t seen it anywhere since.
Quite good at the time, especially liked a fight involving the hobbits, arogorn and some dwarves I think vrs a huge cave troll and loads of orcs and goblins, (I think the good guys were trying to sneak through goblin gate which had been overrun by greenskins, which lead to this).
There was also a nice fight between gandalf and a balrog, I think it ended with both falling down a bottomless chasm or something.
Most of the film was obviously about the hobbits avoiding ring wraiths thought, and I thought Smeagol (mmm me precious…, lol) was well animated.
I think this was part 1, parts 2 & 3 were planned but I don’t think they were ever made because they ran out of money and the whole set disbanded.
No idea where you could get this now, and would certainly liked to be proved wrong about parts 2 & 3.
