One last Nickname

Okay, sorry to re-open this but I just thought
of a possible nickname for "us yanks" and had
to suggest it. How about "Usams" pronounced
"You-Sams" wittily combining U.S. Am with
Uncle Sam?

RD: Witty maybe, but as I recall, we were looking for a collective term
embracing citizens of both the USA and that other oft-forgotten country to
the north, what's it called again?

Yanks'n'Cans?

Richard.

No, the original problem was an objection by some
players in the south to being called Yanks; the original
nickname search was how to refer to US residents
in some other way, without calling them "Americans"
because after all, there are people in America who
don't live in the US. So I was proposing "U-sams"
as a solution for that.

'Nuff said!
