one ring victory

There has been one in the UK I forget which but I think we reported it in
Flagship and in the Bree.

Let's say that there is one game that we have which is quite close right
now... :slight_smile:

Not any thing confirmed, but I heard some vauge rumors in '96
about it :wink:
It is pretty hard to locate the damn ring. I had a
fifty-fifty on LAT with Elrond stacked up with a +125 to his
mage skill. And it is even harder to pick up (spend 5 turns
with cirdan and glorfindel, padling around outside SG capital
with my navy, in game 70 before Corsairs finally yielded).

The closest that I got was someone locating the ring and seeing gollum
having it in NG. Gollum seems to move around randomly, but this time we

have

someone in the same hex.

Gollum was PCed (he really is quite weak), and we got the ring. This is

much

easier than trying to pick it up by yourself. As we were within 12 hexes of
the mountain, we moved in the ring bearer with as many guards and 930's as
we could manage. The DS were told that the ring was found at xxxx by yyyyy,
so we expected company.

In the final turn we were to have the ring bearer do a 215 and transfer

item

to someone (great move IMO), while the other person does the two orders.
However ... the ring bearer lost the ring wandering over (it actually moved
to a nearby hex), and all we could do was slaughter the DS who were forced
to come in and stop us winning the game.

But I think a ring victory has been done by the yanks (they seem to claim
