It happened in Game 83 when Allsorts were running it. The four of us
left in the game (playing the Noldor, Arthedain, Cardolan and Dwarves)
had never played before and we were all that were left in the free
people team. Not knowing any better we decided to look for the ring.
We should have lost since the Dark servents owned most of everything
else but we managed to find the One Ring, carry it some of the way to
Barad-Dur, lose it, find it again and finally the Noldor (run by Ian
Pegden in his only ever game of ME) drop it into Barad dur and won the
game.
I believe it took a powerful mage to locate it and an emissary/Mage to
carry it. We ould only move about 4-6 hexes before it waas dropped.

There has been one in the UK I forget which but I think we reported it in
