Opinion needed about the GM denying to correct a player's typo

If I recall, Marios put Order Checker into JOverseer - not MEGames. I do know of a 2 year old issue where JO no longer runs on Macs, for some reason that has been analyzed, but not rectified.

Yes Mario PUT Orderchecker into JO, but that was the extent of it. JO and the Orderchecker accessed the data in their own two independent ways. So issues could arrise where JO was displaying your character as an army commander but the Orderchecker seemed oblivious, for example. Merging the two was a big project. Also what the orderchecker actually reports on was enhanced.

As I understand it, the issue with JO on the mac is that the MAC version of java does not have, or will not let you access the libraries that JOverseer uses. This issue is unresovable with JO in its current form. That is my take on the state of play with that issue.

So with all this development happening behind the scenes…when are Apple users going to be able to use JO again? I"m getting tired of sending people maps. I think I"ll recommend going back to MEOW, Palantir, and Automagic…

I prodded our programmer is exploring another way around the problem.

VEO I have sent you an e-mail and PM about getting a beta version of JOverseer that may work on your MAC. Please download and try it out, and let us know if there is any problem.

Cheers,

I’m running Joverseer on my Mac. Runs great. Just need to install the right version of Java I believe, which is an older version than the one the operating system shipped with:

java version “1.6.0_65”
Java™ SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_65-b14-468-11M4833)

This is on the latest JOverseer version 1.0.12. I’m on OSX 10.11.16 “El Capitan”

I launch it using the command from the unix.launcher.sh file. Just cd into the directory you unzipped the file into (joverseer-libraries-v1.0.12) and type this into the command prompt:
> java -Xmx384M -jar joverseer.jar

thanks for that trodzo

It was indeed a change in Java that stopped JO working on Macs.

Hopefully the beta version of JO produced will now work with the latest version of Java.
