No offence taken, though the value of the bidet as a sign of superior
culture is arguable.
Italy (Northern Italy anyway) would definitely be on my list of
second choices.
If you don't wan't to listen to all this crap just set your browser
to screen out messages containing OT or Off Topic in the title which
is why they are put there! Unfortunately, a lot of people are unaware
or ignore this when putting out there off topic messages. This list
started off for UK players. As Harly have expanded so has the list
but some of the early practices of arguing about anything remain with
the supposed proviso of putting Off Topic in front of them.
I was not 'boasting'. Oil export is obviously not a marker of
anything important except a countries balance of payments. My point
was aimed at the arguement amongst my compatriots who were insistant
upon repeating innacurate figures in their apparent desire to slag
off their own people irrespective of truth. My intent was not to
denigrate other countries (no doubt if born in Italy I would be pro
Italian) but to suggest my own people not constantly see bad in their
own. If we had a little more self belief then perhaps we would be
more confident about engaging with Europe.
Tolkein based Hobbits on the common English people (rather than
ruling class). Half the time you want to throttle them for their
ignorance, suspicion of 'strangers' and self absorption but they will
also suprise you with their sense of right and are good to have on
your side in a fix!
