Overruns...

Having lost a couple armies, a few characters, and some serious
NPC's (Itangast and Freawul balrog...) my latest game :frowning: , I've got
a couple questions regarding overruns:

1) as long as you are "non-friendly/tolerant" to the other army, you
can overrun them EVEN if they aren't moving, and you end in the hex
they've always been in..?

2) do multiple armies get combined to figure on the overrun? say, 3
armies that can't do it themselves, but they all converge on the same
hex where an enemy army is...overrun?

3) under the assumption that the minimum troops required is 5 times
more than the "victim", is there a maximum size of possible victim
that anyone is aware? or do you have to be even larger to overrun
larger armies (5-1 for 1-500, 6-1 for 501-750, something like that..)?

Geez Brad, lots of odd questions eh..? yeah well, same game, i've got
another smallish sized army WITH another dragon, on someone elses
city...imagine 1 player killing 2 dragons AND a balrog in one game?
I think my record would be up there with a challenge happy elro on
roid's....

Many thanks,

Kasper:
Yes

2) do multiple armies get combined to figure on the overrun? say, 3

Kasper:
No, Overrun occurs when an army attempts to advance out of a hex, not
upon entry into the hex. Overrun is checked one army at a time. The
actual check is done for who stops the army movement (i.e. the one
trying to do overrun).
If fx you have an army of 500 troops and an army of 100 troops in hex
xxxx. Enemy army of 600 troops enters hex xxxx. Then there will be
50% chance the check for movement stopped by non tollerant/friendly
forces check starts with the small army of 100. That army will then
be overrun regardless type of troops (doesn't matter wether its 600MA
overrunning 100HC)

3) under the assumption that the minimum troops required is 5 times
more than the "victim", is there a maximum size of possible victim
that anyone is aware? or do you have to be even larger to overrun

Ratio for overrun is 5:1 and maximum number troops that can be
overrunned is 999 (armies of 1000+ can never be overrun)

Kasper: To pass an enemy fortification you have to move evasively
which is harder to do with large armies. But it is possible to
overrun an enemy army ontop of a fortification. The check for
successfull evasive move is done. If successfull then every enemy
army in hex has a chance (greater with high command rank) to discover
evasively moving army.

So overrun on fortification may occur when 1. enemy forces
succesfully evade fortification. 2. AND is discovered by army in hex
with less than 1000 troops and less than five times in number of
overrunning army.
