Palantir question

When you do import turn data it says:

"Do you want to change any nation allegiance before the import (If a
neutral nation has change this turn then you must change their allegiance
or the import will produce incorrect data)"

Followed by Yes/No with Yes curiously as the default.

What data, precisely will be incorrect? Why don't the icons change? What
does one do when one had neutral xmls - it seems common practice now for
neutrals to share their xmls a turn or two before they actually declared -
would it be best to tell the prog they have changed allegiance?

If you are importing a turn that is a neutral then you should have palantir set so it thinks that nation is a neutral, even if you might consider him friendly. Basically if his icons are still showing neutral then he should be neutral as far as Palantir is concerned.

The icons and data on those icons - ie wrong Allegiance.

  Why don't the icons change?

They do - the turn after.

Not until they have - you can still import the data though.
