Gents,
I've run navies quite frequently but have never run across pirates or sea monsters. Does anyone
have an example of how much damage that pirates will do to a navy?
I've noticed that my ships were blown off course about 1 time in 3 or 4 when I moved across an
open sea hex.
The other rumor that I have heard is that you can be attacked by sea monsters. Can anyone vouch
for this little gem?

The one i recall i've encountered pirates as tthe corsairs ( thats quite ridiculous, to say to a corsair that he's being attacked by pirates. ) and I lost 7 warships, no transports. I think its a simulation of combat against a random fleet, therefore warships would always go firts. Don't know if that applies to monsters though

Matt, I've encountered Pirates AND Sea Monsters in my current Corsair game where I declared against you guys. I thought it was some kind of divine punishment? You'll get to see my pdf's after game end.

Yes indeed, you have been a beacon of good fortune to us in the deep
south! Don`t forget you also got over-run by a larger navy too. Did
you have a woman on board? "It`s bad luck to have a woman on
board...aaaaarrrrgggghhh!"
Fortunately we don`t need good luck to win this game...

Thanks for reminding me 'bout that, David. Beacon of good fortune, eh? Well, I'd say I've served as a grand distraction for the FP in the south. A distraction if nothing else! And I am (helping) sack Bree! A Corsair sacking Bree? How cool is that??
