I care little about these rating one way or the other. If others do, then I hope they enjoy them.
As time passes, players who
have not played recently will find their scores dropping, whilst active
players will remain at the top of the tables.
Will this also have the effect of granting higher totals to someone that plays more games? If so, it will be a listing of those that spend the most on games. If it discourages drops and encourages people picking up viable dropped nations, than it is good. If it simply becomes a race to see who can finish the most games, then it will be meaningless to me.
Personally, I'd prefer ratings based on opinions of other players. Each person would order each other member of the same allegiance in categories such as "most skillful", "most cooperative", "most knowledgable", "most communicative" and "Least likely to make order entry mistakes". There wouldn't be much difficulty in determining an average.
