I recently had a character bite it when I tried to have another character take the encounter for
them (a proxy). Harley stated that this kind of proxy reaction is only 100% reliable when the
characters are in a company but I cannot recall EVER having a failure like this!
What kind of luck have the rest of you been having? Has anyone else EVER had a failure where
another character tried to take an encounter from another?

Back in the GSI days, we built a dragon slayer using
commander artifacts and put him in a company and sent
him off to known dragon locations. First dragon we
come across, the company commander got the dragon
encounter. The dragon slayer issed Personal Challenge
to the dragon... He died.
All the dragon slayers artifacts ended up on the
company commander. The IssPers did not "trigger" the
encounter, therefore, the company commander (no longer
a CC since the only char in the company was now dead)
still had to deal with the dragon. Using the CCs
artifacts, he killed the already injured beast.
This is the only time I've seen one character interact
with an encounter, then the other had to deal with it
also. Of course, this was becuase I did 210, not 285.

No, I don't think so. But my thoughts on the matter would depend on which
encounter it was.
