Prs

There have been accusations that the introduction or PRS will affect the way some players play. An accusation that most players do not believe. But you want to see the machinations of a final turn. A game ended recently where the victorious side were notified a couple of days before the turns were due. Now comments had been made earlier that if nation x had just 37 extra points then they would knock player z off the top ten list, ho ho ho others commented but no one took it seriously. Then the opposition dropped and it was a question of where are my points coming from and how can I improve them in the final turn? 100% tax rates to bolster the reserves, 1% tax rates to boost pop centre loyalty, name a slew of characters to try and gain a position or two there, hire armies where ever possible as “I must only be a few recruits short of nation w’s armies”. I expect many did not submit a final turn, why waste £4.10 when the outcome is inevitable? The final upshot? As I had already sent a turn in I may as well do what I can to improve my final standing. Four characters on my capital meant seven NatSells and a pop at a tax rate of 100%. My reserves shoot up and gain me 300 points and I put my nation 9th on the PRS rating and I do indeed knock Clint off his tenth position.

Khamul

And your point being?

Hey it’s your money, if you feel it’s important to boost your position once your team has won you go right ahead and spend that cash. I don’t see anyone holding a gun to your head.

Perhaps the point is that Darryl was a prophet after all. That, of course, only makes it worse when the prophet’s foretelling comes true.

Hey at least he was an acurate prophet!

Cool -

Clint

So the next time clint is in the same exact position as Khamul was he’ll do the same thing jump back up to whatever position and nothing will have changed ,relating to position. Besides what are you suppose to do if there is no opposition? Attack a friend. Maybe when an entire team drops the last turn should not be run cause in reality the game is already over.
Khamul2 what would you have done if there was no PRS in place. Probably the exact same thing.
Prophet hmmm Is there anybody out there who didn’t think some people wouldn’t try to up there standings. If so I have some nice swamp land for sale.
If someone wants to up there standings- cool. If they don’t care about it – cool. I’ll play with both.

Does anyone have a problem with this last turn, nothing else to play for action?? Its not as if it matters. Heck, a lot of people wont even submit a turn in this situation…

david

Sounds to me that khamul2 had already submitted a turn and just made a few changes, no problem with that in my eyes.

If you don’t run the last turn you will not get the sort required to support the PRS. That would be an admission that the “Law of unintneded Consequences” had won.

Doesn’t it always win.

Spot the glory hounds, very easy to do. The most important ratings arethose of your allies and those of your enemies. Anything else is looking out for number 1. What’s the bet the ones high in the individual scores don’t rate in either of he others?

This PRS thread brought forward for the attention of interested persons. Darrell predicted this sort of behavior, did he not?
