Two thoughts

Since I have not had time to read all of the posts on this subject, I apologize if this has been addressed. One thing that should also be considered with player 'drops' is what turn the player dropped and what turn the game ended. Also whether the nation was viable. If someone drops a viable nation there should be a bigger penalty.

I was playing the QA in a 2950 game and all but my nation was eliminated, and I was not in too good a shape. I dropped to end the game giving the freeps the victory. I could have lasted another 5 to 10 turns but it seemed pointless. Is there a way to concede without dropping?

I think this looks like a good idea, if you'll include a "Dropped
Games" column also.
Everyone can check whatever they want, be it team wins, VC's, votes or
drops - and read into it whatever they desire.
It should give as good a picture of the player and his games as I
think is possible - without resorting to written reviews!

It reminds me of soccer lists: Games played, won, lost, goals scored,
and player(s) of the match - something most people should be able to
relate to I guess.

42!
Who certainly vote once a game was over.

If you publish a table similar to the example from the original

debate on

Bobbin's pages, then players can make their own judgement about

what's

important:

Team Played VPs Votes and many other

possible

columns
            Wins
Tom Tidy 6 9 4500 26
Tim Nice 5 8 7200 14
Jim Pugg 5 12 9300 13
Jon Zogg 9 10 4500 32

Yes, but I'm doing my best to suppress it at the moment  It's a sort of tricky secondary issue.

It is a problem. You might see here why I am suggesting a roster table rather than a combined ranking based on a formula. Say the formula gives you minus 3 points for a game drop... There are justifiable drops and unjustifiable drops. Dropping when your team has no chance but a few want to fight to the death and have pockets deep enough to do so, seems to me like a reasonable drop. So does feeling that you've been personally abused by a team mate. But that's all relative, what I consider to be a justifiable drop, may well be considered "giving up too early" by someone else. Same as what constitutes a viable nation. Who's to judge? I don't actually think you need a penalty for dropping, you just reward in points for completing (not starting) games. BUT if there was a significant demand to record how often someone had dropped, we could have a "dropped" column in a table. I could ignore it (unless it was really large) and a player could at least defend himself by telling people why he made those drops.
