Pseudonym, Money, Time & stuff

Hi,

Basically which restricts you most about playing PBM:

Time.

I'm in five games of ME and it's too much really. I was going to join
Legends but I just didn't think I would be able to do it justice. Some
people can take part in lots of games but I take some time doing my orders
(you wouldn't think so from some of the wacky mistakes I've made)!

I find I'm emailing my orders the day before, after midnight. I should be
tucked up in bed by then!
(this isn't a problem for Clint - don't you ever sleep mate???)

Pseudonym's. Yes it's cheating but it depends really. If it's a team game
I don't mind so much because it doesn't matter who wins at the end. It
doesn't matter much to Harlequin either apparantly, because in game 34 they
have put the same person in three positions. (To be fair, it's not like
this player is trying to deceive anyone, he's perfectly happy with the
situation, Harlequin are happy and most of my team mates are happy playing
against him).

In an individual game, I think it's ok if it's announced at the beginning
and it pairs a weak nation with a strong one. The Woodmen with North
Gondor for example? In one of my games, South Gondor and the Eothraim is
played by the same person. One of his nations is ahead by miles, but I
don't mind so much because he's been an excellent player and instrumental
in us winning the war. He probably deserves to win. We all knew from the
start anyway and we didn't mind. Not sure how our opposition would have
felt though, had they known?

I also think it's Ok to take a dropped position until a new player is
found. Nothing wrong with that.

On the other hand, if you take two powerful positions yourself and pretend
your, Mother/Brother/Daughter/Sister/Great Aunt Claude are controlling the
other one, and transfer all their resources to one nation at the end in
order to win, then that is cheating and just a little bit sad.

However, I've come to the conclusion this doesn't happen.

I once made a 'joking' remark to someone along these lines (and I was
joking, I knew perfectly well these were two separate people) and he got
very upset about it. It's a serious accusation and I've learnt my lesson.
I'm NEVER going to question someones integrity again, even in jest. It's
impossible for Clint and co to do something without proof and there's no
way of proving it.

Well, I know what you mean Laurence. You start a memo and then think "ah
sod it, I can't be bothered" but you accidentally press send. It happens
to me all the time. I'll start a memo, leave it to come back to later, and
then find I've accidentally sent it in unfinished. Sometimes I even .....
