Now that is has been brought up I am curious to what players
think about
players running positions under such pseudonym. Do you mind?
I prefer one nation one person.
But I remember the old days of PBM that rich people (ie not me), could buy
their way to victory with a host of special actions (which improve your
nation at a extra charge), turn as fast as possible (min of one week turn
around), and a few 'mates' to help run things.
But with smails and emails these days its difficult to know if one person
who runs two nations under different names isn't just using his email as the
letterbox of the smailer.
So I don't mind if one emailer have two (or more) turnsheets coming to him.
Does it annoy you greatly
nope. I'm more understanding in my old age
- what action should we take should we think that
something like
that is happening? What proof would we need?
Proof is the key word. The initital clue of funny stuff is two nations, one
email. But that could be Ok. And a smailer address could be dodgy since it
could be the emailer brother/sister who has standard orders that 'so and so
is working/at his mates. Try emailing him'
A better proof would be if the emailer running the two positions is actually
paying for both position. If the smailer was real, he would have his own
cheque book/credit cards.
But even that isn't 100% sure.
I use credit cards for everything these days, and I pay for a friend's
turnsheets since he pays cash straight away to me. And I pay for the credit
card later on (so its a win-win situation).
One smailer running two nations is possible, ie flatmates, or the partner of
someone. But you can't prove the flatmate isn't real, or one partner is
doing both orders.
Having the 'wife' run a second position also allows for one person to pay
for both positions without raising eyebrows.
Very curious about this one.
basically its SHOULD be one nation one person. But you can't enforce the
rule.

Hmmm....
If one were (not that I for a moment imply that this happens;-)) but if
one *were* to be playing two positions in a game of ME - let's say for
the sake of argument one of them is under a pseudonym - wouldn't
discounts make you less likely to stop?Colin.
