So email players are on a different moral plane are they? E-cheating is
cool?
Cutting and pasting my letter to 'prove' something I never said is another
form of cheating IMO.
I think I said that an emailer can justify having more than one turnsheet
coming to him without it meaning that they are cheating. The easier way is
that the emailer is being the mailbox of an otherwise smailer. While I have
a computer at work, and one at home (both connected to the net). I
understand that many people do not have computers.
I know in the past I couldn't afford the 2/3 K needed for a computer.
Smailer can also have two positions being run by one person. I'm thinking of
a flatmate running the second position (so we have different names, same
address) which could be true. Or a partner running the second position (i've
been in games where a wife was running a nearby position to her husband, but
I couldn't prove it was the husband running both).
I generally don't worry about it.
One person faking a person to run two positions is cheating as we have both
agreed on. But I can't think of a situation where on onlooker can be 100%
sure of it. The closest I think you could get was someone not running a
nations in that nations's best interest. One famous case was the rhun in a
2950 game physically transferring pop centres to the L/R while still
neutral. I was a free in that game, but I couldn't prove it was one person -
just that the DS did a great deal for the rhun to give AWAY pop centre to be
allowed to join them. The rhun explained that he was only swapping pop
centres to have a safe pop centre away from us, and I accepted that
explanation.
I still think proof is needed before you past judgement on someone.
