[1] Wondering if the opening 'weather report' might not be a clue - e.g.
'at noon' means the good guys get a 10% bonus or something like that,
and 'high winds' might mean a bonus for the attacker. Something for the
number crunchers to explore no doubt...
Says in the polar climate of the mountains of 2305 a
conflict took place in the early afternoon under a clear sky !!
Hope that helps !!

RD: I recall GSI saying ages ago (in the Mouth Of Sauron) that weather
descriptions were purely decorative and had no influence on the outcome of
any battle.

Note, however, that the spell Summon Storms is _not_ purely decorative
and _does_ have a major impact on the outcome of battles.

Anyone else heard this?
Clint
RD: I'd just like to qualify that statement, because somebody correctly
pointed out that spells which influence the weather, eg Summon Storms
obviously DO affect battles.
What I meant was that the weather descriptions eg, Battle took place under
an omen-filled sky/in a driving storm etc, are purely decorative.
