A small point that may help clarify this battle for those players who

did not lose; it was mutual destruction.

I really was not at all surprised by the outcome.

Right but john -- did your commander get the bonus o
or points as we call it to his command rank -- as it says i was the one over
run -- which to me means i lost !! This is the point i am trying to find out

In the case of a 'tie' (including mutual annihilation) the 'victory'
goes to the defender. For example you can have a dragon with enough
firepower to raze a pop center all by himself, but if your army doesn't
have the constitution to absorb the defensive value, your army dies and
the pop center survives.

Mike,

Enough already ! The combat calculator is a tool to prepare turns and not
to beat the GM about the head with. No real commander in history would be
able to plug troops, conditions, relations etc. into a little computer and
complain that things didn't turn out as they "should've" done. Get over it.

And, by the way, why do you assume that Clint has to be wrong? Please send
verbose messages to the writers of the combat calculator software!!

Well put, Matthew.
As far as I can see everything has gone as it should. You both had
dragons, and as dragons can have attack-values up to 50k there's a
big chance that he had enough to match you 3500 HI.
So the result should be mutual annihilation - as the WK confirms
happened. And as defender he's registred as the 'winner'. Nothing
unusual in this at all !
