Having played this game since it came out, I just wanted to confirm that, from past experience, the battle result looks perfectly normal. Both sides 'lost' in the sense that they had no troops left, but the computer always assigns one side as the loser in these circumstances. In cases of mutual annihilation, the "loser" is
the one who lost the most troops.
There is no GM error here - though I would agree that the battle report could perhaps have been written a little differently. Remember though that this is a matter for the programmers in the US, not for Clint & Co.
