Question about feeding armies

Army #1 has 500 HI, and 600 food.
Army #2 has 500 HI, and no food.

Consumption of food happens after transfers, and before command
orders (around order 400), so army #1 is fed, and army #2 is not fed.

Army #2 transfers command (order 785) to the commander of army #1,
combining the two armies.

Is the new, combined army considered fed, or not fed, for the sake
of movement?

Thanks in advance.

By the time it moves, it will be a 1000 HI army with 100 food, so it will be considered unfed unless it's in a friendly town.

I disagree I think the army will be fed

Doesnt matter that it only has 100 food left at the 800 orders, its was
considered fed at the 400's and has at least 1 food left. It doesnt matter
that army 2 wasnt fed as it is now part of army 1

Yes the new army is fed and you get to move at full movement points.
There is an article on www.middleearthgames.com detailing this
specific scenario....worth a read.

Mark's right. as long as there is 1 food. As one of
my teammates would say, it's how you move an army by
waving a single sandwich at the front.
