Same parameters for both armies.
1/ Will an army of 300 M/A be easier to overrun than 300 HI, or chances are equal, according to your experience ?
2/ Does the commander skill modify the chances to resist on overrun ?
Thanks.

Well, to now, overruns mostly agreed on being a factor of army constitution, so the heavier troops harder to overrun…
Hi Roots,
2/ yes it dose the better commander this harder to overrun.
Cheers,
Ben
I’ve seen a lot of evidence to suggest that overrun occurs when the army constitution ratio is somewhere in the 6:1 to 10:1 range.
I’ve seen NO evidence to suggest the rank of the army commander is any factor at all. As an example, in my current game, a number of very large commanders have gotten overrun just as easily as smaller commanders.
command rank have lot to do with it, belive me.
Cheers,
Ben
Constitution as only factor ?
Does it mean that 1000 M/A can be overrun by 1200 HCL ?
Yes. In fact L.T. had more MA overrun by fewer HC.
Have you looked on how good both commanders where?.
No, I don’t have that data.
Another example of unclear rules. The rules book states only that army SIZE is the relevant factor. SIZE as stated elsewhere in the rulebook is measured by numbers not by constitution. Hoepfully the Source Book clarifies this.
Clearly Ed Mills is not the selfish bastard that some might have us believe. He unsparingly doles out his lore-wealth to us paupers.
Guys, for what it is worth i have NEVER seen a force of 1000 troops overrun by anything. For me, 1000 is the magic number… I’d be interested if anyone has a different experience

Ed just said he did…
Hmm. I just blocked 1400HC with my 400 MA. I was 50point he was a 30 point commander.
In another game of mine my 500HC was overrun by a mixed force of about 3000men with 2500HIE similar commander levels.
I sure does not seem as if constitution matters to me
Mike, my memory failed me. Going back and looking at the figures, it was 800 MA that were overrun. So, your 1,000 man limit may be correct afterall. Mea Culpa.
Mike, I apologize also. I took Ed at his word, but he obviously missed one of his prescriptions that morning… I was also under the impression that 1000 was a magic number of sorts in this regard, until a similar discussion many months ago… I consider it possible that armies of 1000 can be overrun, but taking into account the constitution issue, so highly unlikely…
Considering the Command Level - responsibility starts at the top. The poor commander won’t have scouts, won’t be keeping his troops in proper formation, won’t respond as effectively to information coming back from advance columns, etc. So sure, why not throw in these little modifiers all over the place? Another aspect to consider when trying to determine ANYTHING “exact” about this game…
