I have a technical question to which I can’t find an answer in the rulebook.

Armies A, B and C are in the same hex.

B and C from same nation.

What happens if A attacks B ? Does C join B against A or does C simply ignore the battle if C was not ordered to attack A ?

A does not issue “Attack Army”

They either “Attack Enemy” and attack Every army there that THEY consider an enemy

or

“Attack Nation” and attack every army present of the nation listed.

or

“Attack (Capture/Destroy) Pop” and attack the armies of the nation who owns the pop and then the pop.
