Believe it or not, this is not off topic to MEPBM so I hope many players
will answer.Lets say a company passes coupons claiming $1 off any purchase made with
the coupon. However, when you enter the business, and present the coupon,
you find that they add a $1 coupon processing fee to every order. The
result is that if you use the coupon, you pay the exact same amount as if
the coupon had never been created. Now, the company says that you did save $1 even though you just paid the
same amount as if they never issued coupons. Their argument is that not
increasing is the same as saving.Would you say this company is being ethical?
Now suppose the company only presents the idea of a discount coupon and
coupon processing fee, but due to customer dissatisfaction, they never
implemented the idea. Was the presentation of saving you money if you use
a coupon still unethical?_________________________________________________________________
