Ranking System.... You get what you reward.

They also give free turns for recruiting new players and for picking up droped nations. Why? They know they get what they reward.

In the current ranking system, the highest ranked players will be those that complete the most games. Well, those with the highest wins minus losses number.

Yes, I raised a stink when they happened to announce a price increase and Automagic in the same issue of Bree. They wanted people to use Automagic, didn't want to reward those people with lower fees, so just punished the "non-conformists" with higher prices.

I think ME Games is makeing some seriously bad moves on the PR front. Adding a scoring system that will reward stacking teams, encourange lots of quick games, and discourage people from joining with newer and weaker team mates... I think this would be a bad idea.

I don't think this will add excitement to the game. I think this will adversly effect the way people select and play the game. When you reward something, you will get more of it. Rewarding lots of quick wins, will result in more short games.

This scoring system may work well in an environment (such as chess), where win and loss truely are the result of the players skill. In ME, too many other factors effect the win/loss count. Not the least of these is the length of time and cost of playing the game.

I would not be enthustiac about any system that grants the same ranking score to a player that has 6 of 8 as it would grant to a player that has won 4 of 4.

The small potential gain in bragging rights does not balance the potential harm that could be done to the way people choose and play games and positions. And, I don't see where the bragging rights come from anyway. Ha ha ha... I worked the system to max my points...

If you're not willing to put your name to your words,
they (and thusly, YOU) do not deserve to be listened to.
If you have an opinion, the LEAST you could do is admit
to it, otherwise it's unwelcome spam, no different than
a poo-flinging chimpanzee, and deserving of the same
regard in adult society.

Is everyone on the planet on an egroup regarding Middle Earth
Games? Please get over it. Your input is welcome and
important to the discussion, but the venomous chip on your
shoulder reduces your insight to childish rubbish.

Do enjoy your day, Darrell.
