Here's how to do make a "TurnVersion" text file for
Automagic from the xml info attached in-line to Yahoo
accounts.
Clint, you have a lot of Yahoo players -- any chance
of including something like this in the Automagic
instructions? It took a couple emails from Mike to
help me through this at first.
1) Copy all the XML info (from "<METurn" to
"</METurn>", inclusive).
2) Paste it into a word processor that has a Replace
feature, such as Word.
3) Delete all the Paragraph marks by Replacing them
with nothing (in Word, Paragraph Marks are available
under "Special" in the Replace function). You may need
to do a second pass to get them all.
4) Save the file as text.
5) Start Automagic and choose the Delete & Import Data
option.
6) Important! Check the names of any characters with
unusual accent marks.
Your word processor may not have the necessary
information to properly interpret accents. Word, for
instance, will see "Lndal" as "Landal", and you will
need to manually correct it in Automagic.
7) Check your Game Info sheet (the first tab in
Automagic) to confirm accuracy.
8) You're done!
Dan

I've copied the xml info, pasted onto a text doc (notepad),
and then simply saved as xml.

For whatever reason, that errors out for me when I
then run the import. So I just forward from Yahoo to
hotmail which recognizes it as an attachment. Pain,
but better than removing however many paragraph
symbols.

Excellent response so far. About 1/4 have responded within a couple of hours - as mentioned if you don't want to be involved in the PRS that's fine but the data alone would be interesting to collate and we won't make it public unless you want to be rated.
