Rhudaur question

Can the nation of Rhudaur in 1650 hire ANY army for free or just men-at-arms armies???

It says on the startup that new Rhudaur men-at-arms recruits start with a training rank of 25 and are hired at no cost. Which tends to indicate that only men-at-arms armies are hired free.

There is even one web site that believes this, but on the other hand there is also a website that believes any Rhudaur armies can be hired for free.

I asked a GM which it was, and he said ANY armies can be hired for free, but I don’t think he was completely sure and I’d rather not have to phone in with an error.

Does anyone know for definate which it is?

Thanks.

It doesn't say MA start at 25 training and hire for free.

It says MA start at 25 training.
It says armies hired for free.

All armies. Any armies.

Is there any way to disable HTML postings on this list?

Not only do they take longer to load and read, include ad banners, cannot be
read by all mail clients and tend to be ugly... They can also harbour
viruses using embedded JavaScript. Since we've already seen one such
attempt, wouldn't it be prudent to restrict posts to plain vanilla text?

Rhudar may hire any army at no cost, but if men at arms are hired or
recruited those troops start at that training level.

The last game I finished was as the Rhudaur...

You can hire any army for free regardless of what troops you choose
to put in that army!

I've looked for my own lists, and can't find a way to do that.

That virus was an attachment, so disabling HTML wouldn't help (I think
you can disable attachments, though). Depending on your mail client, you
can disable JavaScript in email.

I'll be in that. I don't see any reason why players
need to use this list to send out attachments. I send
out attachments, but I mail them direct to players.
Harly might need to put in attachments (such as a
document of all the changes for the LA, or WoTR
scenario), but they can put that on their middle earth
web site.

And as for the first question - I've set up a group in
yahoo, and you can say 'discard attachments'.

So its appears to be all attachments, or none.

That particular virus was an attachment. I've seen another list recently in
which a virus was reported as being embedded in an HTML post (it was and was
very nasty, too). I thought it might be prudent to see what could be done to
protect us at a central point, that's all.

I've looked for my own lists, and can't find a way
to do that.

??? get into the main group foldor. Select
'settings' which is one of options on the left.

Select the 'edit' button which in next to 'postings'

Attachments
Distribute email attachments (attachments will be
directly forwarded to group members)
Discard attachments (attachments sent with an email
will be removed)

So select the second one. No more attachments can go
thru the list.

on the top right of the next page. The third option down says ...
