You could venture to say that but I don't think that is the case. In that
game, as far as I know, the Corsairs/Harad came in with the intention of
changing to the same alignment. (That's ok btw) It is more that despite
there being an in game advantage for changing to a particular side (to which
I agree btw Kev), it is that often I find as a GM that someone has gone with
definite ideas as to what they want and with friends which encourage them to
change as appropriate. I could guess with some 70-80% accuracy what sides a
neutral would change to just by looking at the names on turn 1

PS this is one of the difficult bits where GMIng and Playing leave me unable
to discuss the game 16 situation I think as my original point was as a GM
but a point about a game I am playing in was brought up. Very difficult to
get right I think.
Hmmm....
My personal peeve is the Neutrals - they are
rarely that (IMHO) and have such a drastic effect on the game that any
bias

from even one player can change the entire way the game goes. But I think
that I am supposed be supporting the game though...Clint
Could I venture to say that you only think this because the neutrals ganged
up on your side in game 16?Hmmm???
Recruiting neutrals is probably the single most important thing to do in
the game. And lets be honest, the neutrals in game 16 weren't going to go
free once they had been alienated like they were.[For information - the article by Ray Devlin in News from Bree 7 this month
was sent from the Duns to the Noldo in game 16 out of frustration. The
Duns started with (originally) his brother on the FP side and his two
friends playing Cardolan and Arthedain. Now, if thats not unfair on the DS
I don't know what is!!! Even so, he got that annoyed with the high
handedness of the Noldo player that he turned DS just for spite!!!]It must be said, that in most cases I think there is more to be gained for
the Neutrals going DS than FP. Most players I would think, would be of
this opinion?Corsiars have a great navy and can only use it effectively by going DS...
Harad is cannon-fodder for CL agents and usually wants to go the same way
as the Corsairs...
Rhudaur has a dull game if it goes FP...
Duns and Easterlings are the 'most' neutral positions but if I was playing
Duns and Rhuduar went dark, I would as well probably.I think the pre-disposition of Neutrals to go DS is what wins the DS team
the most games personally. Thats why the Freeps should work a hell of a
lot harder to recruit at least 2 neutral nations.Just my opinion of course!
