Hi all,

anyone has any info about the Sauron encounter? I've heard that if your army
gets the encounter (and you are FP) you'll probably lose not only the army
but also (some) characters with the army. Any idea on Sauron's strength? And
to make things a bit more exciting, any idea on his challenge? Would it be
in the range of dragon challenge ranks, or much higher?

Greetings

If a FP Army encounters Sauron the Commqander is killed. Also a lots of troops
will be destroyed.

A giood friend of mine had a 22 emmy to challenge Sauron... nice picture....
probalbly I can get it...

An old Mouth of Sauron calculation indicated that Sauron had a
combat strength of at least 60,000, bigger than any dragon.

In my experience, it's the FP army commander who gets whacked, but if
you have a subcommander he can take over the army and prevent it's
disbandment (assuming that there's anything left of the army.)

Challenge rank -- my guess would be, forget about it. Again, probably
bigger than any dragon ever.

I think that your commander gets killed IF your army is destroyed. If it is
big enough your commander survives, but a Tony Z states it takes quite some
troops to survive.... Best advice is not to move an army through a hex where
you know the Master is or even better Bent down and take your punnishment
for opposing Our Dark Master....:wink:
