SLIGHTLY OFF TOPIC: Extended DVD version

Folks,

So the extended DVD has been out for a few weeks now worldwide. I was
just wondering how many people bought and if the extra 30 minutes or
so are worth the money ?

Cheers
Brendan

I didn't buy the first DVD when it came out and waited for the extended
edition. The additional scenes are definitely worth the wait. Plus, it's
a 4 DVD set, and has a LOT of additional info in the way of
documentaries on the making of the movie. Still, I'm not absolutely
certain I would buy it if I had the "un-extended" DVD... I probably
would, though.

I know of the 2 easter eggs on discs 1 and 2 (the
spoof and the 5-minute trailer), any others?

FYI for those who don't have it, for easter egg 1 on
Disc 1 go to scene selection, make sure the last scene
batch on the right is selected, then go to the middle
column and go "down" all the way. a Ring icon
appears.

For EE#2, on disc 2 go to scene selection and make
sure the final batch on the right is selected (think
it is just scene 48), thne hit down again and a icon
of two towers pops up. cool deal here

Apologize if this has been around a few times and is a
dupe.

This one has been removed from the UK version of the DVD set IIRC,
because it would have meant they would have needed a higher rating
on the DVD set if they'd kept it. It's the MTV spoof of the "Council
of Elrond". It's still there in the nordic version tho, think it's
only gone on the british one.

I definately think it's worth it. The extra minutes does add quite
alot to it, IMHO.

I didn't bother with the Collector's Edition (with the bookends)
tho, just bought the 4-DVD set on it's own.

Øystein, still drooling

How to describe it: The 4 disc set is just a different movie. It is
VERY worth watching, especially before the next movie. Very nifty.

There are just so many li'l differnces that its amazing

Go buy.... spend....... $pend ............
