Folks,
Say you have a character who starts with Reveal Pop center. Does that mean he can directly learn Reveal Character True or does he need to start from the beginning again ? i.e learn reveal production, reveal char etc
Cheers

1650 7th Edition page 32 under Prerequisites:
“If a spell is being learned that is equal to or less than … a spell already learned (from the same list), then there is no prerequisite.”
Thus, it would appear that the mage in question can learn the other hard spell. No personal experience here though - literal translations of the rules are rumoured to be less than 100% accurate, though. Can you advise of your results if you try?
Thanks,
Brad Brunet
You do not need to start over when trying to learn hard spells.
I you have e.g. Sickness from start, you can learn Curses without
having to learn weakness first.
Simon
Yes you do not need to start over again but in the last example you still need a Spirt Mastery artifact to learn curses even though you know sickness.

Just replying for Brad, that my attempt worked. i.e. I started with a hard spell and I was able to learn the average spell without first learning the easy spell first.
Hope that makes sense…
