I'm shocked at the sudden downgrade of a fine service from Middle
Earth PBM Games.
Being forced to accept to pay an additional start up fee for the
above, I would expect a reliable service from them and we who been
asked to pay shouldn't be expected to check their work for them.
But a recent incident happened where mepbmgames failed to set the
correct nation relationships correctly, resulting in a failed action.
When asked to rectify, they refused to acknowledge their mistake and
refuse to rectify the mistake.
As a result, the entire Aussie team may quit mepbmgames forever.

This can be a problem with games where the neutrals have pre-set
alliances. In all such games I've played, the teams have been asked to
check their allegiances at the start of the game so any corrections
can be made. Obviously I don't know whether this is the case here -
though had I been playing a neutral I would have checked as a matter
of course - rule #1 of PBM in general, always check your turnsheets
thoroughly, especially at game start-up.

I'm surprised by this - unless you were asked to check allegiances
(see above) - if you were then this is a reasonable attitude on behalf
of ME Games, if not then it isn't.

You'll regret it if you do. Everyone makes mistakes, and whether this
was one by your team, or ME Games, it doesn't seem serious enough to
quit playing altogether.
A member of my 2950 team had a recent problem with an
older version of auto-magic and was told, too bad,
you're mainly stuck with the results even though it
was a program error and not player error. He is going
to continue playing the current game he is in, but has
confided to me because of the poor customer service
from this event, he may never play Mepbm again.
Folks, remember we are your customers, we are paying
for a service to experience a fair and fun game. If a
technical problem occurs when a turn is run, please do
your utmost to rectify the situation. Otherwise,
people who enjoy 99% of the aspects of Mepbm, will not
continue to be customers of this fine service.

Interesting couple of questions posed here ...
1) Is Automagic offically supported by ME Games? If so which version?
2) Are individual players responsible for using the latest version?
Without knowing this, it's hard to comment on the above problem. I'd
suggest ME Games needs to include something about this in the House Rules.

Why do people take such drastic steps because of one mistake? Various
moderators of MEPBM have annoyed me (to varying degrees, GAD being the
worst), but I don't think I've ever seriously contemplated giving up
the game - it's simply too enjoyable.
I started a Gunboat game in which one of my starting relations
towards an erstwhile neutral (but an enemy in this game) was not at
the correct level. I emailed them, it was corrected within 24 hours.
I am not necessarily a big fan of MEG, some of the GB policies are
ludicrous IMO and threaten to derail a game, there was a recent
instance where several people were left out of a game they had signed
up 4-6 weeks back and sometimes MEG's choice of words is not what
it should be for a customer service response. They are still a lot
better than GSI.
I mean no offense but I find it hard to believe that they would not
acknowledge their mistake. They have always stood-up and taken
responsibility for their screw-ups (which do appear on the increase)
Did your whole team fail to notice starting relations for one of your
nations was not manually corrected to the proper settings? If so I
feel your team is slightly responsible for the failure of your plans.
You still have human being working at MEG and I always check my
startups in even regular game, that is basic MEPBM gaming in my book.
