Stealth turned up a notch?

Has anyone noticed that Stealth has been turned up a

notch? I mean
it seems to me that Agents are not turning up as often
as they used
to... Is it stealth or maybe pops doing a worse job
of
seeing "visitors?"

About offensive actions: just had an A30/S80 blow
through my 55 guard. Assuming the 2xguard skill,
that's impressive.

There are lots of theories on stealth bonuses for :
that it adds directly to agent rank, that it adds a
roll of (0 to stealth rank), that it adds 1/2 stealth
rank, etc. This last theory isn't likely give the
above results.

Greetings,

Stealth has always directly resulted in less likely chance of showing up
in pops. My experience with stealth is that it gives an agent bonus that
equals a roll of 0 to stealth rank.

And your example about guarding isn't surprising me. My 12 years of play
has only proved me that Guarding is a joke and in most cases a waste of
agent capacity. I have experienced situations worse than this, so the only
thing I know for certain is that you can errase the 2*guard rule
completely from memory, the "rule" is non-excistant. My advise would be to
only guard when your guard is equal to or better than the assassin, in
which case you might be better of just assassinating the assassin yourself
(if you know him).

I agree that agents are the most powerful class and can be the main factor
of winning a game, but I still dont think you should do any tweeking of
the CL nation or with assassins in general (which will corrupt the fine
balance that excist now between good vs evil). The only thing that needs
to be done to level out the dominant factor of agents would be to tweek
the guarding order, so its not just a train skill order in the rulebook
(in comparison with prentice magery), but becomes a useful order which you
can count on.

Now if the 2*guarding role really excisted and worked, that would really
change some strategies.......

Kim,

I agree with your e-mail especially the part about guarding. 2x is
just not working out to hold true.

I think perhaps what I am noticing is that stealth is coming in on
better CHARs as well as more often. For example, perhaps more and
more players are using a hire-retire strategy, or more nations are
picking stealth and sending these sneaky thugs out in the same
company.

Whatever the case, I feel this may be a good article for debate.
Thing is, I am still recovering from my first. Hope everyone
enjoys it, it was my quick effort to point out the value of Victory
Points.

My Guarding seems to work ok... If however the enemy agents are around 100
then guarding is a waste of time since they will get through usually no
matter what.
