Thread on the forum that's discussing Army Commanders issuing attack orders against undefended pops with dragons in tow.
It seems that there's somewhat of a consensus that if you issue Destroy and have a dragon, but not enough to survive the Pops defenses, while your army is destroyed, the commander "always" survives. This is opposed to the general consensus that when you attack a pop and disband your forces against the walls, your com is killed. Anyone have insight on whether this "dragon exception" is close to true or a figment of....

Are you sure your army was not disbanded in the combat? Because if your army was destroyed by the dragon, than the commander coudn't atack the pop. And if he didn' t attack the pop, he survived...
