SV: Re: Lighthouse story

C'mon, guys,
I'm a bit older than most of you and this thread is aggravating my arthritis
from having to hit the delete button so much, not to mention the eyestrain
caused by reading your senseless drivel...

I agree. While we certainly can just hit delete, or set up our E-mail to
automatically delete some of these off topics (except for those who have changed the
subject), I don't see why we should have to. This is, after all, the MIDDLE-EARTH PLAY
BY MAIL list, and not the "Let's solve all the worlds ills by bashing the USA and
guns" list. I don't think that Clint needs a special mailing list, as I'm sure such a
mailing list or newsgroup exists out there somewhere, which is where these discussions
would be more appropriate. In fact, the actual MePBM comments you see here seem almost
out of place with the vast majority of disscusion topics, which shouldn't be the case,
seeing as this is the list for MePBM comments.
It's not that I don't like debate or discussion, but we've just proven here that you
can't drop a little off-topic comment on this list without repeated, lengthy, unending
replies flying back and forth. If you feel strongly about someone else's off-topic
comments and feel the need to reply, please reply just to them to point out the error
of their ways. In fact, if you feel the need to point out MY erroneous thinking on
this subject, feel free to reply to me, (not the list), and I'll be happy to discuss
it.

Senseless drivel?!? Far from it. The discussion has become very interesting
and instructive.

Still, thank you for providing a well reasoned argument against continuing
the discussion.
