Tax Rate Question

Then you wanted this:

TAXES AND LOYALTY CHANGES
Tax Rate Loyalty Effect
01% - 13% +2, +3, +4
14% - 26% +1, +2, +3
27% - 39% +0, +1, +2
40% - 60% -1, +0, +1
61% - 73% -2, -1, +0
74% - 86% -3, -2, -1
87% - 100% -4, -3, -2

For every 1 point you raise taxes loyalty may drop a point.

For every 1 point you lower taxes loyalty may improve a point.

Averages 1 point loyalty change for every 2 points of tax change.

There's a common misconception that the loyalty break for higher taxes
is 59%, but really you can raise taxes to 60% with a neutral affect on
loyalty.

Subject: Re: [mepbmlist] Tax Rate Question

I am not actually looking for how much it will change when I change the
Tax
Rate but how much it will affect loyalty on a turn by turn basis.

I happen to think that the change though is much more than 50%. I have
lost
numerous camps on turn 1 when increasing my tax rate from 40% to 59%.

Thomas

Recent gaming experience indicates that for each percent tax rate

change,

there is a 50% chance of a loyalty change of 1 point per pop center.

Roughly, the rule of thumb is that pop centers will change in loyalty

about

one-half the total tax rate percent change.

Interested to see who else chimes in on this. Your mileage may vary.

I have been told this, and although I dont pay too close attention, when I
had 60% Tax Rate my Loyalties seemed a lot lower than when I had 59%. Its
probably just a coincidence but I am one who likes to play safe <grin>.

In my own experience 60% seems to drop loyalties on a turn by turn
basis, while 59% is relatively stable. It could be coincidence (a
string of -1's), but camps just seem to disappear at 60%...
