Just a bit of fun...i know i have too much time on my hands...
The Flaming Eye, Issue 1.
Peons,
Welcome to our brief review of the last month in middle-earth!
As expected the Ithil Pass has been hotly contended with the Freeps
landing thousands of troops on Osgiliath on t1. South Gondor and
North Gondor have been very active with three armies under ARGIRION,
ADRAHIL and BOROMIR defeating a sizeable force led by SHAGRAT in the
"City of Blood", though taking large losses themselves. ARGIRION`s
"Huge army" neglected to take part and marched in Minas Morgul in a
suicide run, where it has been met by armies under ROGROG [WK],
UKLURG
[FK] & AZGURATH [DkLts]. The invaders are expected to be repelled
despite their valour [or should it be stupidity?]. Back at Osgiliath
BOROMIR & ADRAHIL are licking their wounds and have been joined by
another
huge army under North Gondor`s BARANOR to meet LUGRONK`s Ice King
army.
One can only imagine the bloodshed...the Freeps are obviously trying
to
build a bridgehead east of the Anduin, but the Dark Servants
anticipate that
they will be able to out-recruit them in the long term.
With the four neutrals [Khand and Duns, Freep. Wizard &
Corsairs,
Dark] having already turned something of a scorched-earth policy has
ensued;
the White Wizards forces have laid waste to the town of Screggan
[1618] & also the
village at 1916. This week 1720 will go the same way. In retaliation,
the Duns
have taken 2017 and sit with armies at 1918 & 1715. Mutual
destruction seems to
be the order of the day. Rohan have also sent a huge force to
Angrenost, but
Saruman anticipates that it can do little damage to the Citadel. And
the Riders
have their own troubles...
In Khand, many dark servant operatives are in action, with
agents at the
capital tying down the easterlings there. Last turn URDRATH of the
Khand met MORNADAK
[of the LR] on the field of battle at 4332 and won a narrow victory.
Also the Freeps
destroyed the Long Rider village at 4433. The Khand now have a "huge
army' under
ITANA OVAN @ 4425. The Quiet Avenger will destroy the Khand village of
An Karagmir this week. Meanwhile the Corsairs have been left pretty
much unmolested,
which has allowed them to build their fleet and their armies...
Rhun has remained relatively quiet, with no sign of the
approach of the Dwarves or
Northmen towards Mordor. Can Dwarves sneak up on you?
In the Far North there have been a few opening gambits with
only the Witch King
emerging as maor winners; at 2406 MURAZOR Wiped out a combined
Woodmen/Silvan force under BORK
& LEGOLAS respectively. But, it is Mirkwood that most of the action
has taken place; the Dog Lord`s
cavalry under the leadership of RASHKUK has stormed into the
Greenwood and taken 2915 from the
Silvan`s before moving on to 3014. The Silvan`s themselves under
DORLAS have retreated from 2915
to 2911, only to meet DURAN of the Dragon Lord. As forces of ROHAN
creep towards DOl Guldor, there
are already two armies facing off there; TATHAR the Sinda has huge
army facing GASKBUZ`s modest force
there.
As you can tell there have been a lot of opening moves, and
no fronts have been closed off yet.
Neither side has moved to bring down bridges, artifacts are being
closely fought over, wills tested. It
promises to be a tightly contested war...oh, and Freepsters watch out
for the Corsairs in your
backfield!!!
Just a bit of fun...i know i have too much time on
my hands...
