Thoughts on players attacking team-mates

What do players think about this? Should we step in and if so at what
point?

Sadly, I don't think so. In the VERY first game I played, the Aragorn player
assassinated Galadriel just because he could. Apparently he had two victory
conditions, most artifacts and most kills. Blech.

Middle Earth Simulation, where virtually infinite outcomes are
possible, or not?

How would you "step in"? Not run the turn with these orders?
I would have to asume that the game in question would, for
all intents and purposes, be "ruined" by then anyway. Let them
"play".

Okay here's an example:

615 - friendly character
740 - retire all characters

948 - your money to enemy pc.

etc the list is big and reasonably obvious. If players feel that we should
not interfere then that's okay - I just want to formulate a policy that is

This is just too tough to deal with. I mean, our game would have been
COMPLETELY screwed if you guys had not stepped in. On the other hand, if
people want to be dinks...

Hi Guys,

I don't know why exactly this topic enter in discussion in this moment.
But I think that's in my game that occur oit WITH ME…
I'm North Kingdom in game 41 (now FPeople in turn 18, and in last turn a
STRING emissary of me is assassinate and other survive an assassinate MADE
BY A FP nation. I send my turns to all FPs BECAUSE IT'S AN ALLIANCE. But
this nation (I won't say the player name because I don't know if he wants to
explain his position…), a FP one, attack my group when I'm attacking SK
(DS nation in the moment) towns…
In first moment, I thought that he wrong the order, and I send a mail to
him asking explanations, and he said to me that he knows what he did (he had
my turn, and I hadn't his…), And he did, because in the past, when he was
attacked by SK and other neutral, he asked help, and noone send help… BUT
I'M< NEUTRAL IN THIS TIME, AND I NEVER RECEIVED HIS TURN, HOW CAN I KNOW HE
IS IN TROUBLE??? He say to us (the FP alliance) that he don't understand
english (he's spanish…), then he can't write to us, but in our team are a
Spanish guy, and I said to him in MORE THEN ONE TIME THAT HE CAN SEND ME
SPANISH MESSAGES, BECAUSE I TALK A LITTLE, BUT HE NEVER SEND A MESSAGE TO
THE TEAM…
Then I asked to you, how can I protect me if I can't attack his nation
with armies???
Arda is a world that bad is bad, and good is good. I don't think that an
ally can attack another ally, only because you ccan't change alliance. When
you are FP, you are FP to the rest of the game…
My thoughts in this game, is stop the game and put all my emissaries and
agents to attack his nation IF HE KILL ME ANOTHER CHARACTER. Then, this
week, I received a message from him saying that ME don't accept his oders
(615 versus me and 740 with his characters), and saying that's I'm bad guy,
don't know how to play… and whatever…

Other thing, I don't know how ME discovered about this porblem in game.
But in the game (we are 8 FP nations and NK versus 10 DS and SK), then if ME
accept the orders from this guy, he will ruin he game from 20 people...
Becuase I will let my armies without protection and move to attack him, and
DS will continue to attack me and my allies...

BUT I ASK HERE TO ME TO EXPLAIN MY CASE IN THE GAME, BECAUSE THIS GUY
THINKS THAT I SAY TO YOU ABOUT HIS ORDERS...

Thanks ME to let me play a good game, because this
guy is ruin the game only to say that he can do this...

                                                 Carlos Zeituni, North
Kingdom in game 41

P.D.: I hope other guys in game 41 put your position about it here and sorry
for the rest to have to read my mail....

After reading through the hordes of messages concerning this issue, I
feel that the moderators are justified in reviewing a "situation" and
stepping in to stop any acts of "malice" that are not appropriate for
the "spirit of the game".

As a business decision this only makes sense. Stopping one players
malicious behavior may allow 24 other players to continue a game and
possibly continue playing this PBM game. Competition is fierce in
this industry! Harly does an excellent job of being impartial and
diplomatic. Therefore they should be allowed to step in to "correct
a situation" before in destroys the game.
