Transfering ships to army

If I transfer ships from a fleet to an army, will the army automatically at that moment in the turn, assuming the apporpriate amount of transports are transfered, become a fleet?

Thanks.

Yes I believe so. Remember though, that the navy that is transferring the ships must be able to anchor ships in order to complete the transfer.

I was under the impression that the ships were anchored, such that the new Navy is on land and in order to sail must 798 P/Up Ships…?

Maybe I misunderstand the question, but if you do a MovNavy order, isn’t the picking up of ships automatic?

I know this isn’t the original question at all, but I have no information for the original question.

An Army that MovesNavy where there are anchored ships will only pick up as many transports as necessary to carry all the troops. NO Warships. You’ll be able to move (better not meet an enemy at sea!!) but to move the Navy you better 798 PckShp first…!

And this also assumes enough transports are being transfered to carry the troops in the receiving army as well. Given the above criteria being satisfied, I agree with Rommel and believe that it then becomes a navy; i.e. no pickup required.

Thank you for your responses.

Yes, the fleet and the army are in a hex where ships could anchor.
Yes, after the transfer order there are enough transports in the original navy and the army-turned navy to carry all the troops present.

I hope you guys are right and that I don’t have to give the pick up order and can simply do a 830.

(incidently, I am am trasnfering both warships and trasnports from the navy to the army, that is why I cannot simply issue an 830 and automatically use the number of transports required that might be anchored in the hex; my army-turned navy needs to have warships in it).

You do not have to pick up the ships in the situation you outlined.

If you transfer not enough ships for the army. I.e. say you transfer it 1 transport. Then that trasport will be considered part of the army, it wont be anchored in the hex where another army can pick it up. It will still be associated with the army it was transfered to. Unless of course you move the army in which case the transport would be left behind.

Ok got it Zalender.
Thank you for you help.
