Unfair ?

Hello,

I send this knowing that it might actually annoy some people in this game.

In Game 28 a 2950 game in which I am playing the Khand Easterlings, as you will see from the address, I attacked the Rhun Easterlings. I did not know that they had turned Free and was astonished when the Free Peoples who I had been talking to quite friendly so far, and who I was about to turn to, declared war on me.

Since then I have been speaking to another neutral who has informed me that he has asked the Free to continue to coerce me to their cause. Because of this I have not issued an attack order against any of them until last turn when I influenced the original area of contestment back to my nation. However in all this time I have not recieved another message from them. I have also learned that for some reason they wished to keep the Rhun Easterlings turning secret from the other neutrals. For what purpose I know not.

Personally I find this sort of behaviour quite unbecoming. They are obviously lieing to the other neutral that I have been in communication with and as a potential game winning neutral I would have quite liked an explanation.

Hi there

I've sent you a lengthy mail trying to explain the game situation -
but one question does come to mind:
Why haven't you tried to contact us? You say you didn't hear from us,
well we didn't hear from you either and apparently as a result we may
both have gotten the wrong idea...

Unfortunately there is no real code of conduct as concerns Neutrals. We try
to keep an eye on things, but you are allowed to lie, send false diplos, and
generally be dirty and underhand. It's part of the game - when dealing
with (or being a Neutral) be aware of this is about the best advice I can
give.

Your morality in life is often, not always though, represented in the way
you play games! (Very open to discussion this last sentence).

That's why when I have played a neutral I try to keep in good relations with the
other neutrals. It hasn't always been successful. It seems some people don't
feel that neutrals should talk with other neutrals.

With no offence intended, that is a very subjective view of what
actually happened. We have been very upfront with all the neutrals in
the game, which is why they have joined us and not the DS.
Your request for peace was for us to give you Mistrand, which you had
taken from Rhun. This was not acceptable to our side as you were the
initial aggressor, and Rhun was obviously not impressed that you had
attacked him without any provocation at all.
As you will remember, several emails were sent between the two of us
on the subject. You gave me every indication that you were not
prepared to back down regarding Mistrand, despite various other
offers, so we decided there was little more we could do.
This has been a very enjoyable game so far, and the DS players have
been great to play against (even if they have killed my characters,
wasted my armies and stolen all my gold).
I personally would be more than happy to reopen negotiations, but you
will have to hurry, there may not be much of Mordor left to share

This is funny.

A neutral surprise attacks another neutral, and then worries about
someone else not being totally honest to ALL neutrals about their
plans involving strategic surprise?

Ahahahahahahahaha.

This is good stuff. Send some more!

Many thanks!

ps - live by - die by, etcetera. Besides, I see you're also
complaining about your own possible individual victory....I think
your pleading your case to the wrong audience...

Enjoy your future games.
