Why must we give our names to everyone on the list in order to have an question answered or for a comment to be valid?

Why can we not give a game and nation, so that you know who we are, without everyone else in the world knowing?

I really don't understand why we must give our name to everyone.

Thank you,

How about a credit card number? Oh, you already have that.

Please note I won't answer any comments or queries on the list that are not
signed by the player concerned. Policy choice. You are welcome to discuss
the points with me, in a calm and rational manner and I will attempt to
answer them then as I hopefully do with any point that does come up.

spammers, flamers, etc. if you aren't even willing to put your
name beside your comments, questions, opinions, or vast lack
of understanding of how, in fact, the western world operates,
then you, frankly, don't deserve a response.

megames works hard at what they do for love of the games.
i've seen clint working and sending emails at all hours of
the night, 7 days a week. they aren't firing anyone, and
they aren't shortening their hours. anything that makes the
"old way of doing things" better, (duh, technology has
enabled us ALL to be more productive...and keep our wages,
if not increase them..refer to western world idea above...)
allows them to not only escape the drudgery of the "old way
of doing things" but affords them more time to work on other
ways to improve things.

variant games, quick response, excellent service delivery,
and various other projects they're working on to improve the
game. pubmeets, face to face matches all over the world now,
the possibility of maybe buying the game rights themselves in
order to make various changes they can't right now. all these
things have a better chance at getting done, to the benefit of
most if not all of us, when they are able to become more
productive. you know, trees, caves, civilization...productivity,
don't know why you don't understand the real simple things.

an analogy can be made vis a vis the game itself: if you aren't
using email, on a team egroup, sharing pdf's electronically,
etc etc, than you and your telephone and recipe cards are going
to get your butt handed to you by those who do. simple.
(unless you have the luxury of living with your teammates. I
play with people thousands of miles away, as do most of us
now)

megames has often requested feedback from it's clientelle.
something most other's never have done. they've worked with
their clientelle to further some projects, and shall continue
to do so.

WHERE DO YOU GET RESPECT BY BEING ANONYMOUS? Nowhere. Who
are you? What documents can you produce to support this/that?
Show me your degree/portfolio. Give me references, etc. If
you don't join the group, you don't get the priviledges. One
of those privileges, in THIS group, is being taken seriously
and having your questions answered. It's very simple and
very fair. Show me another group of CUSTOMERS who have the
company they purchases services from take them so seriously.
There's a point to deal with for you.

You shouldn't have to, and I strongly urge you not to have your arm twisted. If you want to maintain your anonymity then do so.

Not so long ago Clint was saying that questions and comments of the list would not necessarily be picked up and/or answered by Mebpm Games. The issue was lost a little in a thread about army an navy movement. It was actually quite an important development - I'm not sure that he should stay in position of moderator unless he's prepared to at least read everything on the list.

Now we get "Please note I won't answer any comments or queries on the list that are not
signed by the player concerned. Policy choice." Depite the fact that Clint can easily look up your details as you've deliberately given an identifier which he can use.

So keep posting, and by all means do so anonymously if you wish. Clint won't answer you, but then he doesn't undertake to necessarily answer those of us who give our names. You always have the option of talking to him directly, then copying to here if you think it's relevant to the rest of us.

I think if it effects us all as this price rise does you should answer it on

Paul, I agree. Come on Clint, I can't believe you made the policy decision
to just refuse to answer someone because he doesn't want to be identified
to the whole list. If he want's to remain anonymous he should be allowed to.

You can easily find out who it is (infact I'm sure you know already).

And at the end of the day, he's right. You have tried to make the price
increase sound like it's a good thing for us. I think most people agree
that you could have handled this price hike better.

Don't get me wrong, you have every right to try and charge what you like
for your product. I'm reasonably happy to pay the price increase and
accept your justification (not that you have to justify yourself). Market
forces will dictate that if you put the price too high people will stop
playing (or cut back a bit). It's not like you're selling an addictive
substance. (It might feel like it to some people I suppose).

Mr Woodmen 65

(Having said that, Brad's put-down yesterday was very funny. Mr Corsairs
101 does go on a bit).
