US FTF Poll and my thoughts

Okay looking at the poll and looking at the response I have had off list
there is a big disparity - half voting.

Chicago and Washington are the biggies, with Las Vegas and option.

If I doubled the votes then 16 for Chicago (2x8) would not be enough to go
there but I am pretty sure we could get more players to turn up.

Something that might work is:

8,9,10 June (Sat-Mon - play Monday) a game in say Chicago or DC - leave
DC/Ch Tuesday (or have a break for a day there) and travel to Minneapolis
for Friday 14-16th June. That way work would not be so badly hit for us in
the UK and we could provide better support. How does that sound? My
preference is DC but it depends on players. I'll contact everyone who has
put their name down so far with several options as to what is possible and
go from there. Thoughts on what is possible would be very welcome before
Sunday when I will contact everyone I hope (including all those off list and
those that have yet to read their Front Sheet - please spread the word if
you can.)

Costwise - I think the game for players would be something like: Turnaround
1 and 1/2 hours. So 1st day 4 turns, 2nd+3rd days 7 turns each - 18 -20
turns I would estimate. (Depends on how fast you guys handle the turnaround
really as we're thinking of buying a Mac Laptop and asking the various
places to provide a fast printer (we pay ink/printing costs) and software to
run the printer.) With 2 game running we would charge some $750 split
amongst 44 people $25 each (covers hotel for a night or two as well then,
travel in the US - I don't want to penalise the players who we go to
second). Hotel costs and travel costs are yours to cover. $80 for 20 turns
(don't forget the price break) so around $100 for us to be there.
Conference room in Minneapolis is Free, Scout hut in Copenhagen was $10
each, so if you guys can organise something like that as well then costs are
dramatically cut. So around $150 say per person.

It's your call if you can afford this and want to come. We're not making
you come... (I have spent more on a paintball w/end and had less fun in
that!)

how can you not have fun on a paintball weekend?
anyway, a game somehow incorporating paintball and middle earth would
be bloody interesting!
