US FTF

Note US not UK. (Try to keep the topics separate as I am organising
multiple events and this confuses the issue).

Minneapolis so far because:
Guaranteed player base or at least 25 players. (Elsewhere provisional
groups of upto 4-5)
Accomodation at a cheap(ish) rate.
Food at cheap rate
Rooms available for running the event for free.

Weaknesses: A little inconvenient for us/players to get to there. It's
reasonably central. Sight seeing minimal... :slight_smile: (We're there for work not
play though - your play our work). There are other considerations that we
need to consider as well. They are presently investigating a Game shop
for us to play in amongst other things.

No-one else has offered me that sort of support yet. I need someone in the
US to do the organising for me (like Ulrik/Bue did for Copenhagen). If you
do have that then please inform me NOW so that I (or you on our behalf) can
start investigating the options etc. Having done this three times (and
numerous conventions and the planning for these type of events) before I
have a lot of experience of how long events like this take to organise.
I'll be in touch with all players who I have received positive sounds from
when I get the rest of my work done (probably tomorrow).

At some point I need to make the decision where the event will be held - it
won't suit everyone but it would be foolhardy to try to. What I am playing
with is either running multiple events in different locations. This is
convenient for players - but not for us. (Ie we would have to spend over a
week in the US at that time - something that I am not sure we would be able
to do - it's a week from our normal work.)

West Coast is something that we don't appear to have the player support for
in enough numbers so we can't make it there. The 2ndary option is
reasonably clearly Washington and Chicago (some of the Minnie players would
be happy to go to Chicago so that's an option).

So that's my thinking so far on this.
