Chris, as I said in a previous posting I have no trouble with new players having the Noldo and Cloud Lord. These are the game's superpowers and if they are degraded then the more marginal nations have a bit of a breather.
It is the pounding that most newbies can't take. It damages their self esteem and they quit. I deliberately provoke the enemy to come after me--I am hard to kill--and hope they leave the newbie alone. But, if you can survive the furnace of nations 1, 2 and 3 then you can do well in this game anywhere.

afforded an opportunity to play Noldo or Cloud Lord? Would you not
agree that my status in the bottom ten percent (I am sure) should
limit me from at least trying to play Noldo or Cloud Lord?Chris
