I hope you enjoy using this new forum, which is powered by vBulletin software and is much more powerful, user friendly and robust than the previous forum.
You’ll need to register an account before you can post, but that’s reasonably easy and once you have done that you’ll have access to a host of useful functions.

Well, much prettier and more functional than the old one (could not be worse though could it!) Not sure I can see whay a forum is any more use than the list though, so I shall continue to partonise that, and look in here from time to time to see if there is anything more interesting than the puerile “taunts” that seemed to comprise 95% of the old one.
I think the new forum is great! I’ve used this style of forum before and it’s certainly the nicest and most useful kind I’ve ever encountered.
I’d say there’s probably little need for both the forum and the list, but given that I think the forum is definitely superior. It keeps everything a lot more organized by keeping each topic to its own thread, and furthermore subforums can be added to keep like threads together.
For example, a subforum for taunts and discussion of specific games could be added. Another for announcements from MEGames (such as the FS, info on Automagic and MEOW, etc.) would be a natural choice, and so on from there.
Too many “forums” ruins it. If a hands on moderator cared to “file” old threads, all the power to him. Scenario based subforum’s might be worthwhile but many more will overcomplicate.

If there are too many, yes, most of them won’t be used. However I think down the road one for ‘Game Talk,’ one for ‘Official’-type announcements, and one for General Discussion would probably be a good thing. When there’s only about 5 threads here though we’re pretty far from needing it, so ‘down the road’ probably means when there’s a couple pages worth of active threads and things are starting to get a little jumbled.
From a dial-up users perspective this is much faster and easy to use. Some of the Features will take a short while to learn, but overall well done it looks great!
I hope that there are some limits on image size allowed, as I used similar boards that allowed huge signature images, they look gross and slow evertyhing down.

Avatar images are limited to the smaller of 50x50 pixels or 60k. Images within a post or a signature aren’t limited as far as I know, though. But you can turn off signatures somewhere within the settings if it becomes a problem - then none of the signatures will load for you. On the other hand it’s probably ‘good board etiquette’ to not post any big images.
Looks really good…just like the ezboards that I’ve seen and used on other forums.
Are there plans to install different forum rooms ? i.e. one for taunts, one for discussions on MEPBM in general etc, etc ?
No plans yet that I know, but I’m definitely in agreement that we need at least one more just to separate the ‘taunts’ from all the other discussions. It’s not too big of a problem yet, at least until we start running over into a second page.

New forum rooms - we’ve no plans for this. They clutter things up a lot. We’ll see how big things get before deciding if we need to but from what I could see with the PBMForums there wasn’t any need.
New Forum looks great … just joined and wanted to say hi to everyone I’ve played with (if you pardon the expression) … especially Mr Sacco, Jeppe and Dunsters … I’ve seen you guys lurking about this Forum and I’ve got my eye on you.
